Wolves at the Door™

Wolves at the Door

Midwestern singer/songwriters, Nikk Wolfe and Kai Ulrica, collaborated to form the group Wolves at the Door and released their first CD, "Main Street is Empty", in January 2005. Their 2nd Cd "Unforgiven" was released in May 2007. The Wolves progressed from folk rock to just plain rockin'. They found the rest of their band along the way to make the Wolves band: Nikk (guitar/writer/vocals), Kai (lead vocals/guitar and writer), Roger (guitar/vocals), Jimmy (bass/vocals), and John (drums). Workin' hard to bring you tight driving music that will make you move or just want to listen, we strive to bring you a night of your favorite classic to modern rock, some great blues, and music off our 2 CDs. What do we sound like? The Rolling Stones jamming with Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin and The Pretenders with our own style, creativity and attitude.

Nikk Wolfe - The zen cowboy weirdo howls at the exact geographic middle of nowhere, strumming chords on rusted barbed wire strung tight between the voices in his head and the sounds of electricity shimmering in the heat waves of the high empty Dakota plains. Late night radio waves of blues from Baton Rouge and soul of Chicago pulled him to bigger places crowded with the hot bodies moving to the beat, the pulse of hot blood and blues viewed from the stage and remembered down the long empty highway to the present. Outlaw dreams and smoke filled scenes play on the movie screen of his mind and the songs of wolves howling at your door. There are no lies in the truth of my guitar, so let's rock.

Wolves at the Door

Kai Ulrica - A voice rose from the songs of childhood where comfort was found and a quiet confidence gathered. Composed from singing praise and joining the family music tradition, a desire to create something just as beautiful and timeless emerged. The jazz music made by grandmother Jerrie and great-grandfather Jack inspired the desire to touch the hearts of those who would listen to my song. So as they whisper in my ear, I shall sing and play knowing they are with me, inspiring me. A child of my ancestors, a quiet voice heard, a wolf at the door.

Roger Brewin

Roger Brewin - Roger, a recent transplant from the music scene of Seattle, pulls his musical drive from his ancestors back to his great-grandfather who lived by teaching music. Roger keeps the rhythm flowin’ with his backup vocals, arsenal of guitars, and cool gear playing a rock solid rhythm and cool blues leads.

John Jones

John Jones - John Jones: John started like a pro at the age of 13 playing in a house bar band with any gear he could borrow until age 15. He toured the Midwest with a top 40 band right out of high school and has played it all, from indie to covers. John lays down the rhythm that makes the Wolves and you groove.

Jimmy Famous

Jimmy Famous - Jimmy, as our resident movie star, wielded a sword on the silver screen in California, but now brandishes his bass axe for the Wolves. His 5-string fretless bass covers the low end with exceptional tone and ease as well as lending his voice in filling in the background harmony.
